Tony Sprando joins the Blogsquad at rAVe pubs – the #1 AV Publication
As I (Lauren Breslin) am writing this post at 6:23pm on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, Tony Sprando’s blog post on “Is More Speaker Really Better?” is the featured picture, blog and link on the rAVe pubs website. And I am thrilled to share with our Audio Visual Bend customers and colleagues that Tony has recently been invited to join the acclaimed and elite Blogsquad for rAVe publications.
What is rAVe pubs? To borrow their own words,
“rAVe [Publications], was founded in 1998 by Gary Kayye, and is a news organization that provides coverage of the commercial (ProAV) and residential (HomeAV) audiovisual trade industries via e-newsletters, blogs, video, social media, and a variety of other mediums.
The target audience for rAVe’s publications is what we call “AV Insiders” – AV dealers, integrators, consultants, designers, etc. that deal in the sale, specification, design and installation of audiovisual products. We do not target what most people call “end users,” though a small percentage of rAVe’s readers may qualify as such, especially on the ProAV side of things.
rAVe is an opinionated news organization, providing news and commentary that reflect the opinions of its authors. We believe that all news is heavily affected by the views of its author, so we state up front what ours is going to be. We are also heavily biased towards the AV integrator/dealer’s perspective since, well, that’s our audience. However, we do NOT get paid by manufacturers, or anyone, for running off our editorial mouth. We run what we run based on what we think, and that’s it. “
What is the Blogsquad? Who knows more about the audiovisual industry than the rAVe Blogsquad? Nobody. These audiovisual experts have more industry insight and audiovisual experience than your average AV blogger. The AV blogs are full of great analysis and are chock full of personal (yet well explained) opinions from writers who aren’t afraid to tell you how it should be.
Why is this important to you? For our Audio Visual Bend customers and supporters, this recognition by Gary Kayye and his rAVe pubs team confirms what we already knew – Tony is a skilled and dedicated AV professional. For our AV Bend readers who are colleagues and partners within the AV industry, be assured that Tony’s passion for problem solving, innovation, and professional development will enable him to share valuable experiences and learning opportunities with you.
As Tony and I discussed next steps for his social media strategy, he shared his desires to tailor his writings for three target audiences:
- Our Audio Visual Bend customers in Central Oregon and the greater Pacific Northwest. Thank you for your initial business, but we want to continue to provide you with relevant and applicable AV information to keep your AV design, equipment, and services top notch.
- Newbies to the AV industry. Thank you for joining this profession, but we know it can be intimidating to join the ranks. Tony’s goal is to also provide you with relevant and applicable AV information so you can enhance your reputation and build a loyal customer base.
- Experienced AV guys and gals. Thank you for reading our social media posts, but Tony also enjoys collaborating with his colleagues. He welcomes your feedback and learning from your field experiences as well.
